I’m the proud commenter who spent 1h of my life reading through the bullshit links he was sending me, writing down a summary of the “information” contained in the links, and then replying to him. It was exhausting and pointless because ultimately they weren’t acting in good faith, but hey, at least some of you remember

I’ve been in the same situation where some plebbitor spams you with links that are all the same article slightly rephrased pointing to the same Adrian Zenz source(s) and they go silent after you point that out, only to start it back up later. They’re so emotionally welded to hating China. Fuckin’ losers.

That’s why my approach the other day wasn’t even about what the source was, whether Adrian Zenz or not, the reality is that there’s not the slightest shred of anything post-2021 that can possibly make people think there’s an ongoing genocide against Uyghur people, not even from Zenz-adjacent sources. They can just choose to believe the faulty source and they very often do, but when there’s no source what do you do? There’s literally nowhere to hide when you point to them that there’s absolutely nothing for years at this point.

Don’t get me wrong, the Zenz angle is very important, because I can’t guarantee that Radio Free Asia won’t come up with any new lies in the following few years, and it’s important that we show people that the CIA isn’t a reliable source of information when it comes to Chinese policy.

Israel literally disabled Palestine’s internet and yet we still have photos/videos coming out of Gaza showing Israel’s crimes. I said this earlier, but either China has the most sophisticated surveillance and censorship apparatus ever conceived of by humankind, or there’s nothing matching the claims about ethnic cleansing. I suspect a country the size of Europe with a population of over a billion people would have someone come forward with evidence of genocide by now.

I’m really glad that you did because I can link your arguments in that guys thread as examples of how there absolutely were good faith explanations and give them a wider audience.

Observing these kinds of discussions is what moved me towards hexbear.

Yeah that was a fun thread, or would be if not that shameless asshole who very visibly avoided every single effortpost but constantly posted shit to stoke the flames.

I tried explaining who Zenz is to that user here when one of the websites he used had 5 sources from other different websites who ALL go back to Zenz.
