Good morning sober family!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

I am joyfully joining you in not drinking today. Yesterday I got to see my second-ever bat flight out of Carlsbad Caverns (about half a million bats flying out of the cave for their nightly feeding). It was glorious and all I needed to be happy.

Just stumbled across this community from all.

Wednesday will be a stressful day for me, and sometimes after a hard day I want a drink, but if I have a drink I often feel hungover the next morning, which makes that day stressful.

I will not drink with you today and break the cycle before it can start!

Drinking after a hard day always seemed to make the next day harder for me as well. Funny thing is that I still drank every day. Now I don’t.

Days can still be hard. Weeks can still be hard. However, I know it will always get better sooner if I don’t drink.

I won’t drink with you today either, friend.
