The subscriptions list only updates when I close and reopen the app. Is there a fix for this?

Do you mean the subscription list in the sidebar?
I believe so. I also needed to forcefully close the app to get it to bring up my subscriptions finally.
Yeah that’s most likely caused by the fact that the app only checks the subscriptions on first boot.
You could try filing for a feature request on their GitHub repository.
