Morally wrong… Boy, that’s a bad take. A recent study by the Video Game History Foundation has shown that 87% of games are not available meaning they can’t be bought legally from the copyrights holders (used/resales doesn’t profit the corporations).
E.g most NES/SNES games are not available legally on Nintendo own service. Should these pieces of art be lost to time? (because yes, I do think they should be considered an art medium) No, that’s why emulation/piracy is a necessity to ensure games preservation.
They owe you nothing, stop sucking corporations balls. You won’t be compensated for your “efforts”.

Used copies are the only way to do it without violating copyright law, it doesn’t matter how inconvenient it is.
The Citra Dev team very much approve of my stance on this, you need real hardware to dump firmware and to own the games to dump them.
Also those are video games, quit whining like they’re some amazing painting, they’re a commercial product, not a work of art.
