Mayor London Breed told The Standard that, after he left the mayor's office, Mark Farrell asked for a special favor to speed up his home renovation permits. Farrell called the allegation a "bold face lie."

Farrell’s response regarding this incident doesn’t make sense.

If he was purely interested in how long the issuance of the permits would take, why not call the DBI directly instead of Mayor Breed’s office?

    I’m not familiar with that governmental agency, but how long does it take to get a human being on the phone, and then how long does it take to get a human being who can actually answer your question?
