    I remember a nearby small town the next state over proposed closing their decaying, poorly constructed 70s era library with a new one, only to have it voted down by the town because it the “fiscally responsible thing to do” was renovate the old one.

    It’s costed them like twice as much now.

      I’ve got a feeling some people are more interested in the feeling of getting things done than actually getting things done

        Honestly? I think some people outright don’t want their local community to be improved in any way and actively prefer things to be falling apart out of some sense of pride for independence.
