Humiliation should absolutely not be part of being arrested. You are still innocent at that point. Trump should not receive any special treatment though. We can hate Trump and the police at the same time.

Agreed. I’m tired of people pretending that abuse in the Justice system is acceptable because they want to see someone punished. I also agree that Trump should go through the same process as everyone else.

I also get very uncomfortable when people joke about rape in prison. Dropping the soap jokes etc. Rape is not okay in any context, prison included. Convicted criminals do not deserve to have horrendous crimes committed against them just because they are being held accountable for their own crime. And that’s leaving aside the truly appalling number of innocent people being held in pretrial detention because they can’t afford bail.

The guy needs his ego deflated and to be treated like the average person.

Spreading your cheeks and coughing is what the average person goes through when arrested.

Should humiliation before conviction be a thing? No. But if I went through it for two victimless felonies, he can go through it for his fifty (or whatever we’re at now) for attempting to destroy our democracy.

Especially for someone who was so “pro police” (when they’re on his side) in office and advocated for police treating people worse. He should feel what it’s like and maybe he’d change his mind, though I doubt that. He would just say he was treated wrong, but the other people got what they deserved.
