The Fabulous Baron Munchausen (Czech: Baron Prášil) is a 1962 Czechoslovak romantic adventure film directed by Karel Zeman, based on the tales about Baron Munchausen. The film combines live-action with various forms of animation and is highly stylized, often evoking the engravings of Gustave Doré.

Whoa dope, I’ve seen Terry Gilliam’s version, I didn’t realize it was a remake! Or I forgot, much like I forgot most of the details from that fever dream a movie, lol. I enjoyed it, but Robin Williams as the moon or whatever is all I can remember.

Seen it and it’s hilarious. Karel Zeman (no relation to the alcoholic ex-president Miloš Zeman) was a master of practical effects.
