In earlier generations more people didn’t even go to college. If you’re in the 70% of silent generation that never went to college, you’re certainly not going to meet a spouse there. Especially if you attended a university that was only for one gender.
Would it surprise you to know that women attending college were generally expected to meet a guy, get hitched, and drop out?
Exactly. And many of those would be counted in the “some college” category (13%) rather than the “bachelor degree or higher” category (15%). Either way, you’ve got over 70% of that generation not having ever stepped foot in a college class.
