Well I guess we can say goodbye to the title fight. Norris has to win every race and with how good Ferrari look, that seems unlikely. Even red bull have clawed back some of the advantage so it’s difficult for Lando gain 11 points per event.

I’ll enjoy it for a little while longer. Max could get a DNF, I know it’s unlikely but there’s still some chaos to come with all these sprints and no practice sessions

The days of guaranteed chaos are over in F1, at least within these regulations. The drivers are higher quality than ever and the cars are more reliable than ever. This was what, the first safety car in 9 races or something like that? I remember a few years ago when a big deal was made of the first incident free F1 race ever (no red or yellow flags and all starting cars finishing the race) and now that is pretty much standard procedure.

I too will attempt to pretend the title race is still on, but I’m not exactly holding my breath.

The title race for constructor (and #2 in constructors too) definitely is still on.

I’m pretty sure Red Bull is not in contention for the WCC. Unless Perez turns around and can drive consistently into the top 4 next to Verstappen. Which I don’t see happening. He will probably choke in Mexico again and drive the car into the walls.

        Max could get a DNF

This argument never made sense to me because so could Lando. Like the two possibilities (Max having a DNF and Lando having a DNF) offset each other

Sure, but it’s simply to say the possibility exists until the last race, meaning the gap only needs to be < 26 for the final race for the championship battle to stay active. That’s all

This has happened in the past where the broadcast would focus on the “Formula 1.5” battle behind the dominant Red Bull or Mercedes, but it’s a nice place to be.

I genuinely think Lando should look more in his mirrors than ahead of him, because Charles is closer to P2 that land has ever been for P1 in the WDC.

Were there any teams that followed the recommended/predicted tyre strategies?

All the toppers did one-stops, which were not on the list. How about further down?

Magnussen did a 2-stop but it seemed like there was a issue with tyre/car that forced the 2nd stop (based on the urgency in the engineers voice).

On the BBC Radio 5 coverage they sent someone down to talk to Haas and it was just a routine pit stop apparently. Which, yeah, sure it was…
