You’ve got people like this moderator of World News and quite a few other communities issuing bans and removals for things like “Genocide Denial” on any comments that are somewhat moderate or centrist around the longstanding Israel/Palestine conflict. Absolutely sickening to me. There has been NO proven genocide. There are no facts to back that up. This is complete bias and suppression of freedom of speech.

This platform will never succeed if moderators with huge bias are with unchecked power. It’s reputation is already in the gutter as an extreme radical leftist platform. And unfortunately, I see that is very true.

    There needs no fact or proof that a genocide is taking place for the observed actions of the Israeli government and army to be considered genocidal. This is a statement by the UN in January of this year amidst the South Africa vs Israel case. There’s probably plenty more but the burden does not fall onto me to educate you.

    The “centrist” position that you are trying to defend by denying the possibility of a genocide until you are met with facts proving it’s existence is what makes it genocide denial. Said facts that oftentimes cannot be provided until long after such events take place and are recorded and analysed by historians. It’s you putting in so much energy and actively trying to minimise and contradict an established set of observations regarding the genocidal actions taken by Israel, that makes it genocide denial.

    A forewarning OP .world is probably the least anti Israel instance on all Lemmy. Getting banned there for being pro Israel is quite an accomplishment. You might want to stick to Reddit.
