Just realized this while trying to quit soda for the unpteenth time. There’s a certain drink thats way healthier but more expensive by the carton that has basically no sugar and is much better for me. I’m going to stop fretting about buying it because irs replacing something crappier that makes me feel worse and destroys my teeth which I will pay for at some point anyway.

Don’t just quit things, give yourself a nourishing, replenishing, life-giving alternative. Its not nice to present or future you to smash your crutches when its already so hard to stand and move about totally raw and unmediated in this life

I’ve had a long running problem with my sugar tooth. And I’ve had to take similar steps. I’ve switched to sugar free/low sugar chocolate/ice cream/candy, and it’s helper a lot.

Sure, they aren’t great for me either, but in comparison it’s way better for me.

Yep, “perfect is the enemy of good”.

Sometimes you can make the direct jump, sometimes you need to give yourself smaller steps.

A lot of things like mixed berries are already delicately sweet enough or even pushing on oversweet to me (blueberries, strawberries, sometimes blackberries) and can satisfy your fructose and glucose tooth without much harm because it has the fibre to help slow things down a bit

Yeah, I always try to have some berries with breakfast in part because of that.

Though the days I have to go into work in person make that a lot harder.

I just don’t have the time/energy to prepare lunch most of the time.

At least while working from home, I’m already up and moving and have my kitchen right next to me.
