God it feels good to be back in the Trails Videogame Universe! After trying a few games (and finishing my new album) only Trails felt right. So Trails to Azure it is!

As a newcomer to the Trails series, which one should I start with? I know there are tons of them, but I’m not sure which one to really start with.

    • @Kojichan@lemmy.world The general consensus is, if you don’t start at the very beginning with the Sky trilogy, then start at a new arc, so Zero or Cold Steel 1 or Daybreak!

Daybreak is the newest and most modern. I started there and absolutely loved it!!! https://www.reddit.com/r/JRPG/s/KLvQoRuXGE

I’m on Switch, so my options are limited so went to Zero from there and 💕 and now I’m on Azure which plays like part 2 to Zero.

@renwillis@mstdn.social @Kojichan@lemmy.world yes, always start at the beginning of any at and you will be fine! There are always mild (sometimes heavy) spoilers in some of these games related to other arcs, but I wouldn’t worry too much about them.
Trails in the Sky is, to methe best place to start since it’s light on politics and background, but a wonderful adventure and introduction to the world

        • @buerviper@physchem.science @Kojichan@lemmy.world I’ve got a whole different problem. We only have Switches. So the Sky trilogy isn’t available. Which has been fine.

BUT… it also means after Azure, I’ll have to skip Cold Steel 1 & 2 and go straight to 3 which, granted, seems to have a soft reboot from 1 & 2, but that’s a lot of character & world building I’m going to miss out on.

          Sad Panda.
