put all of your election posting here so it doesn’t bother anyone else!
from @CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net:
For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.
I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.
No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!
I should have stuck with my gut and what it’s been telling me for the last couple of years: The Republican Party is a cockroach and the Democrats won’t be “replacing” them. Anyone who believed that drank the liberal Kool-Aid because of one good election yet again.
Also you aren’t being thrown into camps Jesus Christ. Idk what it is with Americans and these fantasies. It’s a hell of a lot worse in Guatemala and even we aren’t doing that shit. You don’t get the exciting WW2-era doomer world. Instead you get a boring modern one where legislative action is taken away gradually, making it all much more normalized.
Liberals will be disappointed considering they’re frothing at the mouth wanting to see the uppity minorities interned
The fantasy by american liberals that their suburban two story will be bulldozed by the state because they had a kamala yard sign is just a way to process the guilt and shame of idolizing an empire that does exactly that around the globe every single day for decades in every square centimeter of the earth where it hasnt been deterred or defeated by physical force.
This does 3 things that liberals fundamentally desire.
Make themselves out to be the victim without actually being victimized/oppressed.
Deflect from the reality that they are funding a genocide and directly throwing people into death camps.
Give themselves an (awful) excuse to vote for genocide
Was it even a good election? AFAIK, it was just people begrudgingly voting for the “not Trump” candidate, who then proved to be functionally the same as Trump, so they couldn’t be bothered to vote against Trump this time.
Americans love to fantasize about being martyrs lmao red or blue, all of the do
