The longer Kyiv and Washington ignore this painful reality, the greater the damage that will be pointlessly inflicted on the people of Ukraine, and the more territory they might cede in an eventual negotiated conclusion. It is time to prioritize diplomacy and seek a negotiated settlement.

That’s the point. A disenfranchised people is an exploitable people.

Yep, for the capitalist class who wants to buy up new neo colonial territory, this is a feature, not a bug.

I don’t think they did, at least the majority. I think the ghouls fantasy victory never included Ukraine winning. Instead i think the fantasy some of them believed was that if they prolonged the war, a la the Soviet-Afghan war, they could get a revolt/overthrow of the Russian Federation and install a US puppet regime.

Equally as delusional as a Ukrainian victory, but i think it fits into the kind of US NatSec ghoul delusion of US power.

I too think that was their plan. To big them down in a forever unwinnable war, cripple their economy with heavy sanctions and de-couple Russia form the rest of Europe.

However I don’t think they expected most of the world to not go along with it and their economy to cushion the blow.

Their military industrial complex still made a giant amount of profit though. I also think they now know that the NATO countries will just about go along with anything the US wants even if it hurts their own economy.

I believe they thought it likely that a situation would emerge from the war that they could spin as a victory for the west. Luckily, Putin’s having none of that.
