Prigozhin’s coup against Putin failed, but it may have created the conditions that are necessary for success in a second attempt.

@laurens @anderspuck when he left Moscow, they decided to negotiate a deal, instead palying cat and mouse all over Russia. 😉
@AndersGottlieb @laurens I’m not sure what the plan was. I think Prigozhin would have a hard time getting support from the elite, so maybe someone else could enter the scene as president.
@anderspuck @AndersGottlieb @laurens
Prigozhin was a pain in the arse for the top table for a long time.
At one stage it looked like he and General Armageddon were positioning themselves to take over.
Then Gerasimov was sent in to push Surovikin to one side, and Prigozhin sent to destroy his forces in Bakhmut.
Once Wagner were rendered anaemic from capturing Bakhmut, Shoigu moved to transfer Prigozhin’s army to the MOD.
Prigozhin had to move.
@anderspuck @laurens Maybe Prigozhin was waitng for a que from Medvedev, but he might have been too drunk to send it. 🤣
@anderspuck @laurens Or maybe he found out he had to be a week in quarentine and have a negative covid test to get close to Putin. 😉
