Could also be /c/hello, /c/introduction, etc. Whatever sounds best.

So anyways, this is a community that is on blahaj which I thought was a great idea. I was planning on making a post there until the recent stuff happened, but honestly it might be better to have a similar community here anyways.

It would serve 2 purposes in my mind:

  1. Give people a very visible platform to introduce themselves and discuss hobbies and interests that would be less likely to show up or would be less visible in conversation elsewhere. Could be games, books, anime, Gunpla kits, interest in learning a language, making fursuits, or whatever else.

  2. Give a welcome and safe place for cool people from other instances who want to say hello and make friends here. This community has been up for 3 years now, and of course has its own lore, in-jokes, etc. that might be a little intimidating for newcomers who are shy. This would be a place to break through that and get to know people better.

Thoughts?

Sure! I’ve never moderated anything here of course so I don’t know exactly what it entails, but I’d definitely be happy to help wherever I can and especially to get this rolling.

So, for the name… I feel kinda weird directly stealing the name, but then again, “howdy” is catchy and friendly, and reminds me of that kitten wearing the cowboy hat kitty-cri-texas

Let’s go with /c/howdy. Also howdy for the display name I guess, unless it needs to be different?
