I recently got interested about the Age of Enlightenment, and more specifically Voltaire - and would like to read some of his works to understand him better.
Can anyone suggest any “Essential Voltaire” that I can start with ? I know Voltaire is most known for his “Candide”, but I want to take it slow.
I’m a huge fan of Oxford University Press’ “A Very Short Introduction” series for any topic I want to dive into but want a high level overview before reading source material, essays, etc.
Check out the Voltaire book from this series. I’ve not read it but I’ve read about 100 others from Oxford University Press and have loved every one.
Thanks ! Much appreciated ! I will check it out.
