We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge!

I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

I’m so grateful for this space, thanks to everyone for this community! Woke up rested and happy after a sober DnD session. I find myself waking with the sunrise, even on my days off. Applying for an online professor position today, fingers crossed, this has been a dream goal for 4 years now. No poisonous alcohol in my system today, I make this promise to myself and all of you fine folks!

294 days since I last drank! Went out to dinner last night with my wife’s friends - all drinking. Again. My wife finally said we need to get some friends who do more than just drink.

I haven’t had a drink for about 5 weeks now. I’m not filled with a desire to drink everyday when I get home, but every once in a while there are moments where I get a craving. I’m sleeping better and my skin looks great. I don’t look as tired as I used to. While I did lose some weight… it seems to have hit a speed bump and slowed down. I really need to put in effort to lose weight now.

I hope you all stay sober today and wish you luck! IWNDWYT

      Good on you!

Don’t worry about the weight loss. Just stay sober. If you get a craving, sugar may help as well. The weight loss can come later, you’re already much healthier than before.

Are you exercising? I started fitness when I quit drinking and now have a home gym. Super convenient. It’s a good stress reliever.

I walk the doggo a fair amount and also have a home gym (recumbent stationary bike, steam link + tv to game with). I’m down about 8 pounds over the past month, which is great. I just need to put the work in and I’m sure some more will come off.
