My wife made homemade sourdough English muffins. They were stretchy and chewy and utterly amazing. I am ruined for grocery stores English muffins.

    Looks incredible!

I was amazed the day I found out that you could make English muffins at home - I’d always thought they were some processed food like Cheetos.

Actually making them was kind of a drag, though. Like tortillas, anything that has to be individually cooked always bothers me. And never seems worth making a small batch either.

But the chewiness. I love that about them. I was amazed the first time I had homemade sourdough pita (she’s done that also.) I thought that pita was tough and dry because I had only ever had store bought. Fresh, homemade pita is so good you can eat it straight from the pan with no butter or anything. Wrapped around kefta and all the fixings homemade pitas don’t tear and spill their contents. And fresh naan? Oh, man. The stuff we buy in the store is barely even bread once you’ve had fresh.
