ah yes, lemm.ee also limits images to 100k. i generally haven’t found it much of a problem; but webp usually works much better if you do it manually. that said i’ve heard good things about (but haven’t used) squoosh

ye it’s because my lemmy/my instance constantly complains about file size so i compressed them until lemmy accepted it
