I don’t just mean outrage or regular rage, I mean shock that someone was to the left of “legal weed and free college but only for those that operate a successful business for 3 years in a disadvantaged community”

I think federating took them by surprise, looking back. For about a week, those smug liberals were at a loss to even fathom what Hexbears were saying, and could only chant bullshit about how we’re Russian/Chinese bots.
Sure they still do that but they’ve slightly adapted to Hexbear presence.
There is no path to socialism without bloodshed. Politics is, almost definitionally, the organized distribution of violence. The peace you presumably enjoy as a westerner comes through the metering out of violence against the working class and imperial subjects in the third world (as well as internal colonialism against racial minorities). What socialism seeks to do is redirect that violence against the bourgeoisie to create an eventual state of equity. The wealthy will never let us get there without a struggle.
If your politics draw a line at violence then you are basically cosigning off on the violence of capitalism. Fuck that. Let’s bring the fight to them.
This is a fair take. I’m not a pacifist per se, I just avoid violence as much as I can. If that’s what it takes to be a socialist state though, so fucking be it
You don’t have to be a violent person, and you may not even get called upon to enact violence personally. But we all need to understand that violence supposedly never being the answer is propaganda on behalf of the status quo. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. It’s never been any other way.
Except before guns were invented. Back then it grew out of swords or something idk same difference.
