Fair. But if Lemmy.world allows it again, I’m not entirely worried.
Remind you that reddit brought those same subs back very recently as well. That is an instance actively putting ads next to “stolen” content whereas mine (at the moment) doesn’t have financial incentives.
I think Lemmy saw the light; that they can’t just outright ban the discussion of torrents/usenet in general.
But thank you for your concern! I’ll make an account on this instance for any unforseen events in the community atmosphere :).
Edit:
For those that care, I’m 100% pro piracy until true digital ownership comes about. Forging a game on the blockchain (eww, gross buzzword) wouldn’t be stealable (a truly unbreakable DRM). I would be okay with that system because true ownership would benefit those making good products. I can’t steal it, but I can sell it when I’m done.
Lemmy.world, even without ads, got a prosecution letter. i doubted that other insances when they grow in count they would also be legally threatened for caching piracy content but i am not sure… i also have my own divby0 account, but i dont use it as my daily driver (no bookmarks and all)
just saying, that place could risk defedaration from everyone. Should only be used for piracy needs
