I am a chemical engineer trying to wrap my head around how condensed matter could be of use for an engineer designing novel materials. These could be for application in electrodes, catalysts, and quantum computers. My research in my undergraduate degree focused on porous organic cages, heterogeneous catalysis in zeolite frameworks, and hydrogen diffusion in ceria compounds.

Is there any particular direction I should be looking in? Apologies for being so general, but I’m currently stumbling over what to focus on for importance! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as I’m trying to expand my knowledge as much as possible.
