Rode from somewhere in northern Italy to Nice, France. It was september, roads were very quiet, weather was mostly good (almost froze my hands right off on a rainy descent, but the rest was quite good). Slept in hotels as I only had four days and was doing like 2500-3000m elevation every day.
I would thouroughly recommend crossing the alps on a bike. I don’t know if credit card bikepacking is frowned upon on this forum, but it can be an amazing experience.
Love riding in the alps, and france, and riding in september, can’t wait to be back doing it. This september i won’t be doing it though, got to show up at work for a bit i guess.
Credit card touring is absolutely welcome here, i say that with my new role as a moderator, haha. And looks like you did it proper too, with very little baggage.
2500-3000m elevation every day
Hats off to you. I squirm at even 100m elevation
I was in better shape back then. And even so I sent myself a postcard from the route forbidding myself from planning a route that hard ever again
Haha thats actually hilarious. Ive got a tour planned through the scottish highlands next year I might have to do the same 😂
