At least quarantine that shit to the dunk tank.
I’m not on hexbear to spend all my time thinking about libs lol, I’m on hexbear because I like hexbear. I like the riffs, and the topics, and the cool knowledgeable users who post stuff I would never see otherwise. I’ve learned a ton here over the years, and it really feels like a wholly unique space on the internet.
Yeah, however they weighed the old one was perfect. I get we have to go with the overall algorithm for federatin’… but that just means all of Lemmy is in desperate need of a better ruleset.
I’ve been hoping they’ll change Lemmy’s Active sort to Hexbear’s old one. If we’d had this back in the day I’m pretty confident the early struggle sessions would have killed the site.
Outdoor cats hanging around in the top for days on end. Are the Falklands Argentinian, or son las malvinas ingles? Let’s rage about it for a week. Power dynamics for a whole month, and pray to God no one mentions rocks and water
We did have this algorithm back in the day. The site kind of sucked until the admins fixed it.
There’s some kind of plan to restore the old active sort algorithm, but it hasn’t happened yet. I tracked down the code that did it from the old implementation, but I have no idea if anyone is working on getting that integrated with the new codebase right now.
