Hi everyone! Welcome back to another Cities: Skylines II development diary. Today we are taking a look at the public and cargo transportation options available for you when you build that dream city of yours!
An integral part of a city’s inner...
I’ve been waiting a while for this news update! Looks like cargo train transport is going to be slightly modified, with storage depots and the ability to create your own cargo transport lines. I say that’s better than the automatic trainspawning in CS1, my tracks were clogging up from all the freight transport. Still no ability to charge delivery fees which is unfortunate.
Exciting to see you can have bus-only pathways, I’m curious to see in the city service dev diary if they will introduce roads only traversable by garbage trucks and emergency vehicles, like in the Traffic Manager mod.
There also was a hint at milestone points and a skill tree system for new tech development, seeing min-maxed cities (state-of-the-art tourism but everyone graduates after elementary school, as an example) will be a lot of fun.
Definitely would love to have service vehicle roads in the base game. And the combination of the old milestone system with unlock points sounds intriguing.
I got major Transport Fever vibes from this update, which in my opinion is very good news as I love that game!
