Almost all of this technology would be wonderful if it weren’t for who commands its production and decides what it is used for.

I don’t think so tbh… The Expanse feels more probable, in its economic and class dynamics. Same old shit you know? We just find (or create…) new peoples to colonize.
This small parcel of human beings who are (at least slightly) sociopathic kinda won out. Thousands of years ago they started out their project, and now they rule the world.
