    I feel like this is excusing the Irish famine more than anything.

    Maybe Im just reading too much into it.

      I don’t think that’s too much of a stretch.

      What, do you mean that food DOESN’T just magically appear in the town? It doesn’t come from anywhere and it certainly wasn’t produced by anyone who doesn’t get to eat it themselves.

      It’s definitely excusing something grim. All that food grows out in the country and someone in the city can get all of it while the locals get shit? That’s not a good look.
