Castles of Burgundy is simply amazing and still holds up to modern games. Anyone has the new edition? Is it worth the prize? I am happy with the 20th anniversary edition

Very nice, even without that tile that lets you spend workers for any tile for free (we hid that one as it felt too easy to win)

Is this a monastery tile? I have not had this one yet I believe. Which is surprising because we had more than 12/15 games of Burgundy. But some powers can be really extreme, in particular if one player gets these early on.

Yeah I can’t remember which number , but it’s the one that says 1x you can spend two workers to take an additional tile of any color even from the depot.

There’s also one shield in the expansion which is wildly imbalanced, so that and monastery #6 get buried in my box

Very nice, what was the score?
If I remember right it’s not possible to completely fill the board right? Not enough actions even if you take advantage of every possible bonus.

I am not sure if it is possible, I never achieved it but I think I remember reading somewhere that someone claimed to have done it. I think the final score was somewhere around 200 vs 150 (give or take)

I love the game, though the tiles could be easier to read - I find new players mistake some of the buildings. Also, numbers on the monasteries are comically small… I don’t know if the new edition fixes those bits, but I can’t see myself paying to upgrade.

Solo is very satisfying, too. It dials up the puzzle aspect.
