What’s the source for this quote? I struggle to picture him saying it, and I can’t see it as something he’d ever have printed in a book. He also doesn’t strike me as the kind of person to boast about how big brained he is “hurr hurr intelligent people ignore hurr hurr”.
I’m willing to be wrong but I can’t find a source for it.
No way he said this. Tons of people misattribute quotes to Einstein. This quote also gets attributed to buddha. Good rule of thumb is: if a quote is plastered all over those dumb quote websites (especially attributed to a very famous person) but doesn’t exist on wikiquote, then you can pretty comfortably say its not an accurate quote.

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.
–Abraham Lincoln
I love how it’s always attributed to Lincoln
Truly a man ahead of his time
Its undeniable that’s he is quoted as saying it…
Seriously though it would be a tight competition between Einstein and Stalin as to who has had the most misattributed quotes
“Communism is when so hungry the only source of protein for the proletariat is the sweat from their hard-working balls. Ligma la vista.”
There it is tankie, in Stalin’s own words. Checkmate
Can confirm Stalin directly told me this, which is the true cause of the Sino-Soviet split
