They pioneered hydraulic suspension, which means they have the feeling of floating instead of driving. This technology waar also used by Mercedes and Rolls Royce.
I mentioned the grand tour, where Clarkson admits the CX being the most comfortable car he’s driven. They prove this by having some interns disabling a bomb in the trunk whilst driving over cobblestones.
Rather unfortunately the last Citroën with that suspension was made in 2007. So modern Citroëns are meh.
That suspension design was also infamous for being unreliable, so there’s that.
Yup and many French quirks are different because of the sake of it, even disregarding practicality completely.
