I’m kind of for legalizing all drugs, slowly, while also putting in place societal infrastructure for discouraging the abuse of drugs and to help people who become addicts.

I can elaborate on further reasons for legalization of drugs if requested; it is not however a top priority to me as a policy issue so I don’t focus on it as much for that reason.

What do you think about drug legalization or criminalization?

I dunno. I’m on the fence honestly. I mean stuff like weed and microdosing psilocybins I am 100% on board with.

But I’ve had multiple people that were close to me (being vague intentionally bc you know some of the wokees out there would LOVE to doxx people like us) that have died or seriously had their lives fucked up by drugs. So my gut reaction is shit like heroin, meth, cocaine - burn it with fire and burn down the cartels. OTOH, I get the arguments that making it legal means people ain’t buying bathtub batches and could probably get better programs that ween them off the junk and make it hard for the cartel to do business.

I guess I’d be ok with a limited trial to see if the proof-of-concept works in the US at least tho. And I don’t mean just decrim everything and turn a blind eye like some Western states have done but something that more closely mirrors the successful programs on the other side of the pond.
