I’ve found places where I can paint premade pottery but I’m having a hard time finding a place to learn from the beginning. I found one that only offered classes in the middle of the weekday but that doesn’t work for me. Any suggestions?

East Side Pot Shop offers some beginner classes. I’ve heard great things about them from friends who have taken their courses in the past.

As I’m typing this l, I noticed that the only beginner class they’re offering currently is on Tuesday, so that particular place may not work for you. You might be able to do the work from home classes they offer, or you can always just rent the studio out and teach yourself via online classes.

My wife used to take classes at atxpottery. They fill up quick which means you’re looking at winter classes being the earliest. If you’re in South Austin, Mud Studio is an option. South Austin studios typically have more openings than North Austin. People have mentioned classes at The Contemporary Austin being great but your mileage may vary.
