agony-immense

This thread in particular got to me today

The cognitive dissonance required to think Biden is on some leftist hot streak (ie Dark Brandon) is too fucking immense for me to handle

They get so close to asking the right questions and then some loser comes in and says something like “no you see, Biden crushed the rail strike because he’s on the side of unions” and just repeat the same weak rationalization in 38 other comments (Biden admin supposedly helped ONE of the many rail unions get ONE concession a few months later) and so now we’re supposed to be like “oh shit, Biden is fucking amazing for workers, whelp, off to the voting booths for me! Sign me up for another round of this guy!” completely ignorant of how it is transparently for optics before the next election, before he goes back to actively repressing labor

“Oh, I’m pro-labour and believe in XYZ, I voted for X person, but listen, these idiotic people who have no education in politics or economics have no idea what they’re doing when they ask for increased pay, or go on strikes, or try to create unions, or ask for basic labor rights. I think their lack of knowledge about the wage-price spiral is really disheartening and they’re sabotaging their own campaign when they ask for more pay, as that will cause prices to increase equally (who the fuck is John Weston?). The economic impact of the strikes will just decrease the amount of money their already bare-bones companies can afford to pay them. Really sad to see these poor, poor people destroy themselves, as a pro-labour guy.”

I do genuinely wonder what pro union things Biden has done in his career? They always say he’s vocally pro-unions, is that it? He just says he likes unions? What material things has he done to make unions stronger?
