And not the semi-tolerable sports communities either. Nah, just the obsessively anti-communist ones. I still can’t understand why they left reddit in the first place when they so strongly identify with that culture that all they can aspire to do here is replicate it.

I agree, I honestly don’t know why they left a pro-capitalist, capitalist-created space for Lemmy which they know is a pro-Communist and Communist-created space just to complain about how it’s so Communist and try to get all the other Communist instances, like Lemmygrad and Hexbear, defederated. I came here after reddit specifically because I wanted a Left space.

It’s like me joining Stormfront and complaining about there being too much Nazi propaganda and too many Nazis.

And that analogy is perfect because these (former) redditors taught me there is no difference between Nazism and Communism.

I mean it has to be at least in part a disinformation campaign, right? That would be the best way to mitigate the fediverse, seperate the instances and have em bicker.

Indeed, it’s easy to bait us into exhausting ourselves bickering with bad-faithing neolibs, too, so it stands to reason they would do that too

That’d be funny if enough of us did it, though.

Yea I think a lot of people came here after getting banned from politics for saying Biden wasn’t pro union or from worldnews for saying nazis are bad (speaking from personal experience) and created an actually cool left space. Then all the liberals got upset about ui changes so they left to come over here and immediatly start trying to recreate everything that killed reddit.
