What grow lights do you use? I would love to set something like this up one day when I get the space

I just bought a few cheap lights off of Amazon. I think they are around 80-100 watts each. 2 of them are purple and 1 of them is full sun spectrum which is supposed to be better I guess. If I would have known I would have gotten all full spectrum because the purple really hurts your eyes when you are around it. The yellow light is more like real sunlight. I paid like 40 dollars per panel. I bought them over a year ago though. And I got the grow tent for like 60 dollars on eBay

Nice! That is good to know about full spectrum vs purple. I may try to set something small up inside - we really love having fresh basil in the summer and it would be awesome to have it all year

I think the purple lights are just outdated. I think they were popular before they found out how to make full spectrum chips for cheap. And basil is one of my favorites! It’s so good on eggs and pizza. If you go on Walmarts website they have a box of different herb seeds that comes with 12 different kinds including basil. The brand is “own growth culinary herbs” I think it was like 10 dollars. I don’t know if you will be able to find it but that’s where I got all of my seeds from. I was happy because it came with stuff that I never even knew existed and they all have different medicinal uses too. I make a tea with lemon balm, and peppermint. It puts you to sleep quick if you have insomnia. My favorite herb in the kit was the thyme because it’s so versatile. It goes great on potatoes, and steak. Fresh herbs have so much flavor compared to the dry stuff you get at stores. it’s a good hobby and I have fun working on it everyday. It’s pretty relaxing. And if you look on the shelf there are led light strips attached to each shelf. I got those for like 15 dollars on eBay but they are not really strong enough to do much. They just add some extra lumens, the more lumens the better

We make a kind of pesto-ish pasta sauce with basil, spinach, garlic, olive oil and avocado - it’s a staple in our house and 100x better with fresh basil!

We grow lemon balm and a few other kinds of mints outside! It’s great for tea.

My Mom grows thyme but I never have tried it.

I will check out that seed bundle. Sounds like a lot of the stuff we like!
