One thing I’m missing on kbin versus Beehaw is that when I’m looking at comments, I can’t quickly discern what instance a person is coming from. I have to hover over them on desktop or click into their profile on mobile to tell. This can be an important piece of information in interacting, since it can tell you if the person is on the same instance as you or if they’re coming from a particular context (lemmygrad or a troll or right-wing community, for example).

I know kbin originally wasn’t federated so this wasn’t an issue but now that it is, it would be really useful to have as a setting or a default now. Thanks for your consideration!

lots of people have been asking so I went ahead and just made a post on my personal mag for quick reference so I can get the links lol. See here. options for showing full handle (with instance), collapsing comments, auto-convert links, and moving comment box to top of comments (like reddit).

That’s great for desktop, but as a mobile user I’m stuck with the default behavior of the site. I imagine a lot of people coming here are mobile first as that’s the main interaction that Reddit is blowing up.

indeed. the admin here (ernest) iirc mentioned he will add support to show the instance for users/magazines.

There are mobile browsers that support scripts. For example the Firefox browser on Android let’s you install tampermonkey which your can install scripts with. For iOS I’ve heard there’s a way to do it but I’m unsure since I don’t have an iPhone. But I do agree that this is a feature that should be added to core functionality
