The thumbnail shows an EV, while the recall has nothing to do with electric vehicles. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence, Reuters.

I find all these recalls so funny. We have a vehicle that was impacted by a major recall earlier this year. They still haven’t even developed the replacement part, and have given us no info on when/how it would be fixed. They recall, and get people wound up, then nothing happens for like a year.

Check your other comment; you somehow ended up with duplicates. I actually really appreciated there information, but once I saw an opportunity to play both extremes of the alignment spectrum, I immediately went for chaotic evil.

I sincerely hope I didn’t offend you, I was just trying to give you a little chuckle.

Yeah, I had to repost it from lemmy.world because lemmy.one is having issues. Comments and posts are not showing up, I think some services have defederated it. Just found out today.

I work in web development and I still struggle to untangle the web of federated servers in these types of scenarios. All I know is that finding a Ferengi in the Neutral Zone triggers a multiball which can be doubled within 10 seconds for a total of four balls in play simultaneously.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Hyundai (005380.KS) and Kia (000270.KS) are recalling a combined 3.37 million vehicles in the United States due to the risk of engine fires, telling owners to park outside and away from structures until repairs are complete.

Kia America’s recall covers 1.73 million Borrego, Cadenza, Forte, Sportage, K900, Optima, Soul Rio, Sorento, and Rondo vehicles.

The recall covers various model years for each vehicle from 2010 through 2017, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) in the vehicles may experience an electrical short as a result of brake fluid leaks, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving, the automaker said.

Hyundai is recalling 1.64 million Elantra, Genesis Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, Accent, Azera, Veloster, Santa Fe, Equus, Veracruz, Tucson, Tucson Fuel Cell, and Santa Fe Sport vehicles from model years covering 2011 through 2015.

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving, the carmaker said in the filing.
