People are happy about this because they don’t like the direction he has taken PlayStation.
He didn’t “oversee Sony’s rise to dominance” either. He took over when the PlayStation was by far and away the dominant’s console in the “high performance console” market. All he has done since then is make decisions that large portions of their player base don’t like. People are happy he’s gone because now hopefully someone new will come in and put PlayStation back on a better path in terms of game and services.
