I once thought about if I wanted to live somewhere in the Star Trek Universe, it would be DS9.
I really wish I could be of better help, since I don’t have much of a positive streak right now.
I remember playing Company of Heroes 2 and realizing how they portray the Soviets as worse than the Nazi Germans though the Nazi Germans in the cutscenes had POA patches. Treating the Soviet commanders as unsympathetic who treat their own soldiers as cannon fodder, backstabbers to allies and so on. Putting in Soviet “atrocities” in text on the load screens. Its greatly disgusting…
Its really a good premise that shows that space could lead to new possibilities and a better world. I say that we are robbing ourselves of our gifts each decade when not finding a bigger picture, but I’d also not want to delude myself as like with a coming multipolar world, there will be new opponents and situations yet if we could find a new way together and overcome the sins and vices of us all, then perhaps an even newer world awaits us. I grew up with Star Trek, learning about NASA and the Space Odyssey film adaptations and yet I want to have that optimism again in this ever increasingly uncertain or miserable part of the world that I live in.
