I think they are changing the old warheads with hypersonic ones on the old missiles.
They didn’t use kheybar shekan missiles, wich had been very successful in previous attack, and we saw that missiles in Yemen that looked like a kheybar shekan with a Fatah warhead, so I think they refitted those first, since they are the newer models.
If so this was a great success. Perhaps that’s why their incursion into Lebanon stoped? We will see if the air raid intensity diminishes. Just 1 f-35 can pay for 200+ of the new rockets, and these are mostly the outdated ones.

If so that’s good news, because most of those were old, big, liquid fuel rockets that take a lot of time to move and launch. The new generation is solid fuel, and smaller so they can be stored and transported in commercial shipping containers and fired in about 4 min.
All mid range ballistic misiles are hypersonic before impact. What makes a hypersonic missile special is it’s ability to maneuver or to fly in more horizontal trajectories at those speeds. So you are right that this likely isn’t it, but it was a hypersonic impact.

Those explosions near the surface don’t seem to be interceptions, at that point they are travelling way too fast, it’s likely malfunction, or some special warheads.
Interceptions should take place in orbit. When you look at al Jazeera footage, several misiles seem to be burning on reentry, those are likely to be successful interceptions, that being said, there are still few of those.
How long did the misiles took to get there? 20m? I feel the travel time was slower now, perhaps these are older missiles?
