So what do we reckon? I’m going for Max P3 by the end of the Kemmel straight and race lead by lap 3 if it’s dry.

really, racing gods? would it have killed you to let Oscar have this?
This kind of used to be the norm at Hungaroring until we had a few years of rain and it being one of the few places Merc’s PU wasn’t super effective. It’s not really a great track for racing.
McLaren’s pace seems legit, which is cool, and fast corners at Spa should suit them even more than Hungaroring. Good job to the Woking boys.
Aston Martin and Ferrari should have been better here, so a middling performance behind Merc and McLaren doesn’t look good. Maybe just putting all their eggs in to next year’s basket?
Mercedes looked back to their usual performance levels after a great qualifying lap from Hamilton yesterday
Alpine is such a disaster of a team, I want to like Enstone like I did in the 2000s with Alonso and early 10s with Raikkonen, but they’re just tragic. Today wasn’t even their fault, but it’s such an Alpine thing to happen.
Perez was better today, especially on a track that’s hard to pass, but Ricciardo looked like he has a bit of a spark back. With Verstappen running away with every race I can’t deny that I wouldn’t mind giving Daniel a shot in the RBR at this point. Anything to make the battle for the lead a little bit different.
Great Quali pace from Alfa Romeo turned in to a typically pointless race result. While the Ferraris, Perez, Russell and Alonso were likely to get by, Albon in the Williams should definetely not have finished ahead of them. Considering the money Audi is starting to invest in the team I hope they begin to see more results.
For a first race back having being taken out in T1, Ricciardo has done a wicked job here. Tsunoda obviously not had the best race of the year, but he’s 10s behind right now.
I’d be starting to think about picking up Piastri over Norris at this point. It’s his rookie year and he’s on a very similar race pace as Norris, maybe not got the ultimate quali pace yet. Norris took over a year to look this close to Sainz, and never consistantly beat him. He’s only going to get better and the McLaren is notoriously unbalanced so he can handle an imperfect car. He’s probably cheaper and not on as long a contract. Norris is still the better of the two at the moment but I wonder if he will be for long.
Well guys, Hungary was fun, see you in Spa.
I don’t think Oscar drove any worse than Lando today. I can see him regularly beating Norris next year.
Then they’re not really F1 fans, and they were always going to switch off eventually. F1 managed 70 years without a massive American fanbase and would survive without it now.
The real question then is what alternatives do we have. We can’t continue to use fossil fuels, Purely electric cars aren’t at GP distance yet (and throw up a lot of questions about the materials used in batteries anyway) and Hydrogen also requires a large amount of energy to harness, then were not left with many options. We absolutely need to increase our renewable energy usage, which is the first problem in a lot of cases.
I guess I’m just philosophically objected to dictatorship in that way. I completely agree that I don’t want random genocide denying loonies filling the comments section, I just don’t think it’s much effort to ask people. I also imagine a lot of people here are attracted to this instance because it’s supposed to be less complicated than other instances where there’s a lot of moderation about what can and cannot be seen by users. So when it comes to banning whole communites (which in this case I think is completely justified) there should be caution and discussion.
I am in no way opposed to Lemmygrad being blocked, it’s not really the kind of content that I want to see.
But, I do understand how one of the main attractions of sh.itjust.works is supposed to be that it just works, regardless of what you may want to post about, and that blocking communities isn’t very conductive to that. I think the answer here should be democracy, doing a poll on such things isn’t a hard thing to do, I think most of us would have been fine with the block.
you CAN do it with any F-XLR to 1/4 Jack cable, but realistically it’s going to sound pretty crap. Guitar amps are designed to sound good with guitars, not replicate the human voice. The same reason a guitar through a PA with no speaker simulator tends to sound horrible. A little portable PA system or an amp that’s designed to be used like that (Roland Street Cubes are ideal) aren’t that much more expensive and will give you much better results. For a good, inexpensive vocal mic, I really like the sE V7.
Honestly I’m beginning to LIKE that they’re smaller. The F1 sub over on Reddit was at something silly like 3m subs, and they had to start making all sorts of silly rules about what you could and couldn’t post, and you just couldn’t have a reasonable chat about anything. Smaller communities mean you get to know the users and everything is a bit more casual and chilled.
I quite liked the NU-X MG30. A decent editor, can upload IRs in to it which makes it sound a hell of a lot better. The Space Echo algorithm in it is genuinely good. Wahs are iffy but no worse than any of the others. Has an Effects loop, decent amps and easily gigable.
Mooer GE200 is solid as well but I haven’t spent as much time with it to know it’s specs of the top of my head.
Personally, I think I’d save up and go for an HX Stomp, even if I had to go second hand. The Line 6 models are a level above anything else you’ll get under $1k, the community is great and the build quality is a lot better than the others as well.
I feel like we all sold our souls for the championship battle excitement of 2021 and now we’re just waiting for 2026.
