But… why is it even a QUESTION of extending some decency and goodwill, in such case? Illegal immigrants is NOT a real issue in the USA. In fact, it’s a critical shortage.
Sorry, I’m a bit pissed-off. @anon6789@lemmy.world
For anything bad we can find, there’s an opposite story to tell about those who are trying to make it better. Rather than telling the stories about the villains, let us tell stories about the heroes more.
Hmm, I like your kindly, rather philosophical nature, too!
Rather than telling the stories about the villains, let us tell stories about the heroes more.
Oh, settle down there… We’re all heroes & villains at the end of the day, didn’t you get that memo?
The comics or the animations, if you don’t mind my asking?
Right on, A6789.
In fact I recall reading you stating the body of such not too long ago, and I thought it very smart, pragmatic, and kind. Okay, let’s see:
I’ve gotten lucky to get a few regular commentors by this point. So far we get semi-regular & random folks, which is cool of course, but regulars would be nice, you know?
I mean, it would be nice to share more of where we’re each coming from, keep in mind our likes & dislikes, and do little ‘tip of the caps’ to them. I’d like that, if possible.
Gotta give that positive reinforcement.
I love that whole technique, and I salute your approach, but at the same time, Euro GN’s border (or encompass) serious, heavy themes & content, and I’m afraid it would falter on the edge of being pedantic if I was to go too far in that direction.
Altho for the record, in terms of my screwups, there’s me BLOWING MY TOP in the comments:

Be open, meet people from other communities, talk to them, participate in their communities to give them some comments to attract others, and that’s all we can do.
Good points!
Altho A6789-- mate, you know you’re allowed to change your public-facing username whilst keeping your core name for login purposes, etc.
I’m just being silly here, but whadya think, whadya think:
…
Hola, Rolando!
So-- I think this why any healthy community needs casual posters. I mean, it’s all very well for the founders, mods & awesome posters like @anon6789@lemmy.world at c/SuperbOwl to post excellent content on a regular basis, but we also need people coming from the zen / beginner’s side of things to post topics like 1) “Help me remember this media?,” 2) “What is your opinion on X?,” 3) “I need help with this issue,” 4) “Hey look, here’s my latest gear / shelfie / etc!”
Yes, and I’m largely stating the obvious, but how do we get there? One idea would be for the ‘content creators’ to turn around and post from the other direction (as above). I’ve actually had decent luck with that in the past, when the community was much smaller, but for whatever reason I stopped doing that. The point of course is to set an example for others to follow, but also to put our members in the position to help out the show-runners, so to speak. Let them have a turn to be the ‘experts.’
Anyway, that’s one idea.
Hehe, that original is pretty good. Usually I find the ‘helmet jokes’ to be pretty lame, even in the absurdist sense.
Rod of Asclepius
Sorry to bombard you with replies matey, but I forgot to mention that my dad was an MD (medical doctor), so I have a certain fond connection with the snake-staff. It reminds me of him, a lot!
God.
(always a useful term, altho I’ve never met the bloke* 😂)
* Actually I kinda did 15yrs ago, but I had serotonin poisoning at the time
In fact, one of my takeaways from life is basically-- “some people would rather die than change their beliefs.” Or simply bow to reality, in other cases.
The only influence German has now is the odd loanword, like Weltschmerz and Schadenfreude.
Hahahahaha! XD
Good luck, bro. (you’re gonna NEED it)
Oh, wow… that’s so cool.
I’m glad you disregarded the old village lady with her folkloric / wive’s tale approach, and just let the animal be!
Indeed, there are some people around the world who thought they had some *special charm* upon venomous snakes, and… …yeah, it turns out they DID NOT. Handling the snakes aggressively as they did, and their dumbasses wound up getting bitten. For lots of them, it was a rather permanent lesson.
hahaha
I love this comic, because “never quit / never surrender” is one of the godamn stoopidest phrases in our culture.
How about: “Take a break, re-tool, gather yourself, ask yourself if this is what you really want, and if so, can our methodology and stress-relief be improved? Well then, well then!”
These are really well done for the most part. Very light-hearted, but rather devious: (Just for Laughs Gags)

I’d be interested in learning, because German is the biggest contributor to modern English along with French. Of course the split happened long, long ago, but still…
It would have to be a couple years though, after I (knock on wood) am done getting to about B2/C1 on French.
Good points. I remember that one can buy powdered tomato and a whole bunch of other useful powdered items on Amazon, etc. One can also buy that certain seasoning that makes movie-theatre popcorn taste so good.
English introduction here:

and is bizarrely fascinated by castration.
Ah yes, as in Sang royal.
Yikes, I could have done without that part. :S
Reminder to self:
Double-check where we are with new Incal, MetaBarons and TechnoPriest material!
Oh, interesting. From the previews, I’d thought that the show’s fauna consisted solely of LEO-like creatures.
Ooh! I made a page for you on the sub. (can you see it?)
