The ember is still there. Once in a while it flares up. But it burned too bright for too long, and is part of the reason why I’m a cynical husk of a human being. I advocate for privacy-centric thinking among friends and family but it’s either preaching to the choir (in the best cases), blank stares, or they’ve already got an Amazon speaker in every room just to turn the lights on/off and set timers.

All valid points. But it’s the streaming thing that gets me. I would have assumed that streaming captured the lions share of the casual market, leaving mostly enthusiasts left buying physical media. Clearly I was wrong lol.

It boggles my mind that DVD still dominates physical media in 2024. I can count on one hand the number of DVDs I’ve bought in the past 10+ years, vs hundreds of Blu-ray titles (and a handful of 4k).

If this actually happens I’m going to have a good laugh at least before the FBI shows up to disappear me. I can’t imagine how that scenario could happen inorganically though.

As she mentions in this video this is her third presidential election. She has never voted in an election where Donald Trump wasn’t the Republican nominee.

Think about that for a minute. Seriously. Imagine only viewing Republicans as the party of Trump. How fucked up is that? Hillary v Trump. Biden v Trump. Harris v Trump.

The first seven presidential elections of my lifetime included either a Bush or a Clinton on the ticket. Then the eighth had a Clinton very involved in the primary. The ninth had neither. And then the 10th had a Clinton on the ticket again. 10, 11, 12 - Trump. 8, 9, 11 - Biden.

I get what you’re saying, but this isn’t just a Trump thing. It’s getting old.
