Oh not at all!
Looking forward to watching it! 😊
I’m watching the Persona 2024 live tour in Yokohama right now, but I’ve just put it in my queu.
Hi there, my name is Andy, I’m from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years now and I’m here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.
My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

It’s pure gaming comfort food for me.
I can get lost in them when things are bad and just forget about anything and focus on the pretty lights and sounds. 😊
Truth be told, I didn’t know what to play first on my PS5. So as games were installing and downloading, I updated the PS4 version of Pinball FX to the PS5 one and turned on ray-tracing.
It’s so pretty this way, such a nice step up from the PS4 version. Specifically the Williams tables;
@apzpins@mstdn.games
Ports back in the day were so much more interesting as we got wildly different versions of games a lot of the time.
Compared to now, where games are basically exactly the same with just some minor technical differences.
I know it’s unrealistic, but I wish it was more like the old days.

I actually don’t know who she is.
@SimonSays@mstdn.games
they did a brand new translation for Mother 1, so yeah, Mother 3 will one day get an English release.
@wiredfire@mstdn.social
Ah, so I see that the writers were familiar with the place! 😂
The only good thing that I can think of that comes from here is chocolate and “French” fries.
I’m really stumped to think of much more than that.
At least we have Larian Studios, so that’s something to be really proud of. 😄

@wiredfire@mstdn.social
Well, it went straight over mine. 😂
Then again, I don’t watch much of anything on TV anymore so that’s not surprising.
@wiredfire@mstdn.social
In the UK, you can buy it directly from https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Curious-Video-Game-Machines-Hardback/p/24332
But I got mine from Amazon Belgium, which is why I got it so quickly.
@crinolinerobot@bytetower.social
That’s really nice to hear. 😊
I know him from Retro Gamer and Rock Paper Shotgun myself.
Despite not being a PC gamer, I do enjoy their work.
@Bogusmeatfactory@dosgame.club
Me too. 😊
Try to look up the demo for the beta version of the Saturn release which was originally planned.
They were working on the game as a whole it seems and didn’t quite know where it would’ve cut into separate parts.

That’s why I taught myself katakana and then hiragana back in the later half of the 90’s, so I could at the very least read the menus for the most part.
That didn’t stop me from importing a lot of RPGs and trying to muddle my way through them, sometimes with a massive printout FAQ next to me. 😅
@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social
Oh for sure!
I certainly would have started importing earlier if I had Super Play. 😅
OSSM and CVG pushed me over that hurdle with making me want to have a Saturn. And to get the most out of that machine, I needed to get Japanese only releases as well.
Thinking about it, I wish I could have gotten one at the Japanese launch instead of waiting till 1997.
It would have been incredible to be there day one;
@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social
I really wish we would have gotten Super Play back in the day over here.
It would have quickly become my favourite magazine.
At the time I had the French Joypad though, which was fantastic in its own right. Also super focussed on the Japanese market, culture and sport gaming.
Luckily I had the pay tv thingy here for wrestling (WCW) which also did quite a bit of anime, although only films as far as I remember, no tv shows sadly.
@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social
I once played it as well, although I can’t remember in what kind of way.
I hardly ever dabble in emulation, so I don’t think it was though that.
Most likely I’ve played it back in the mid 90’s in the little import shop that I used to visit by train each month to get my fix. So many great memories of that time. 😊
@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social
It makes sense since Super Play was really focused on anime at the time as well.
If I’d look it up, I’m pretty sure that they talked about the series in one of the previous issues.
@JTO_is_Typing@mstdn.games
Burning Rangers is genuinely one of my favourite games.
Picked it up the day it came out.
It pushes the Saturn to its absolute limits and even a bit past them.
But besides a few technical hiccups, it’s a brilliant game.
So incredibly unique and has such a special atmosphere b
@lunarloony@dosgame.club
Just finished the concert.
From the first glance, I’m positive that I will.
But I’m a little exhausted right now, so I’m gonna get some food and save these for when I do another scanning session tomorrow afternoon. :)
