Poor leafy :(
You’ve outdone yourself Lazy. I love that you were able to work in the tube of death like that, genuinely laughed just imaging that fluup sound as he gets stuck in 😄
Someone shared what I was talking about in a different post, here’s a heads up on what the upcoming actions are:
Please consider becoming organized in your local communities, they will be essential in the coming months, and it is the most powerful act we can do to resist.
Politics are affecting increasing amounts of people, it makes sense that there would be more discussion of it.
Cheers for sharing that!
For those needs, an old used thinkpad off ebay would be pretty ideal. Affordable, well built and reliable. Only downside is I think the smallest model is a 12"
Perhaps a Chromebook known for being compatible with being flashed with Linux?
While it is far less than we need, collectively across the country, there were more: https://slrpnk.net/post/18532969
This lead up to this protest wasn’t super well known either, from what I can gather. I only learned of it a day before it happened. Considering how grassroots and impromptu it was, perhaps that wasn’t the worst turnout.
I would argue the next step that would really make a difference is economic warfare, such as ceasing purchases of any nonessential goods, and a national general strike. That would have a dramatic effect.
In the meantime, the best option is to organize in your local community to lay the groundwork for such a thing to happen.
Our leadership sure ain’t courageous… Like at all. Pretty dang spineless.
You’re god damn right I do.
(Genuinely though, you could do it out of order somewhat without much consequence except for brushing after Listerine, but overall that order is genuinely more optimal, as crazy as it sounds)
I thought the same thing, seemed like so much extra effort to achieve that slight wiggle of the water (though the added glow coming from in the building does look nice).
Saliva is how your body neutralizes acids in your mouth, and remineralizes your teeth (from the phosphorous and calcium in your saliva).
Weed causes dry mouth, which is a cause of cavities. This effect is also seen in cancer patients, who often have a dry mouth from their treatments.
You could likely counter the effects of dry mouth by using xylitol gum or mints while under its influence.
There’s actually quite a bit of respectable pubmed studies that show when a few off the shelf dental products are used together and consistently, you can effectively kill off all of the bacteria that produce the destructive byproducts that actually cause cavities. You can never permantly kill them, of course, but you can maintain those ultra low levels by using those products in a particular sequence (they work synergistically in the right order due to their different Ph levels).
This Dentist explains the protocol in far more detail, but the tl:dw version is:
Start with Closys sensitive mouthwash (slightly expensive, but is extremely effective at penetrating biofilm, studies show its comparable in efficacy to Chlorohexadine without the side effects)
Brush teeth normally (I personally recommend Colgate Total Standard, which has a low abrasiveness and uses Stannus Flouride, which can withstand a lower pH than Sodium Flouride, and reduces sensitivity)
Rinse with bog standard Listerine or off-brand version (the essential oils are the active ingredient, studies have found it to be quite effective at killing the cavity causing bacteria, but it has a low pH [not good to leave on your teeth] and the alcohol can dry out your mucas membrane if you stopped at this step)
Finish by rinsing with standard ACT (the smaller bottles have a higher concentration of flouride). Flouride actually binds to the teeth best when exposed to an acidic environment, which the Listerine provides, making it more effective. The ACT will raise the pH of your mouth back up as well, leaving your mouth in its optimal state for your saliva to remineralize your teeth.
Since I’ve adopted it, my teeth are stronger than they’ve ever been before, I virtually never have plaque on my teeth, and I don’t wake up with bad breath! If you stick with it, you’ll likely never have another cavity again, especially if you incorporate xylitol gum or mints (or even the raw sweetener itself which is cheaper), as that also helps kill the bacteria.
Thank you ❤️
This group has mainly been organizing from the r/50501 Subreddit and an associated discord group (both very much not ideal).
I don’t know what is in the water at Vogons, but that forum has some the most concentrated, toxic, snobby gate keeping elitests I’ve ever encountered in the retro community. The few times I went there for help, I was tag teamed by assholes.
Feel bad for the mt32pi Dev experiencing so much hate it drove them away and lost their spark and fun :(

I suspect that Lemmy is one of the more semi-isolated parts of the fediverse, since especially after recent events, we’re heavily against traditional social media and actively avoid it, while also seemingly not having an affinity to microblogging platforms (of which I also fall under).
Better microblogging federation like Mbin would likely help lift that isolation.
This feature has been available to all kbin/Mbin users since the beginning, btw.
I love the organic plant barrel, and especially Agent Log’s face, like he realizes he’s in someone’s sights but is absolutely f’ed anyway.
Well done! ^^
