Sometimes you see a single line from a tweet (or whatever the heck that stupid site calls it these days) and know you made the right decision by watching random youtube videos all night instead of a game.

Bluntly speaking the NFL doesn’t care. Ratings are always great and they are selling merchandise hand over fist. The only way they’ll consider changing is if they see revenue decrease or lawsuits are filed over games potentially being rigged by officiating for gambling purposes.
The solutions are all right there: hire them as full time employees, give the best ones a salary that beats being the FOX or CBS rules analyst, and utilize every bit of technology that eliminates errors fans see immediately during a replay.
Will they do this? Of course not, unless forced.
I’m not surprised Russ would bounce back this year. I don’t think he’s quite as electric as he was in Seattle, but that’s simply a result of him being older. He’s playing sensible football. Maybe not at the expectations of that contract, but it’s not like the Broncos will go bankrupt due to it.
