I do not recognize those views on the much more western critical co-creator Bill Mitchell, who emphasizes it is a lens that cannot replace sociology, psychology, ecology, and all the rest of it as neoliberalism pretends, with degrowth and decolonization as frequent topics on his blog.

Before you replace money, if ever, whatever replaces this system is going to need to keep operating the machines of modern society, but even more essential, if it wants society to be viable, it needs to know how to “pay” for not burning the planet.

If it’s what the “socialists” want, there’s nothing the left can do but keep building the grassroots support they have been doing while they suicide themselves, same as if they don’t. I understand electoral politics might help people eat for a few more years, or even not be killed, so we should play the part where it makes sense, just not expect change to emerge from political games.

Who knows if the conditions will be better or worse later on, all we know is conceding is a fool’s gambit.

MMT people, or people who like the necessary soundbites? I’m nowhere near being an economist, but the less known creator Bill Mitchell is clear on his semi daily blog about what is MMT, and what are his political beliefs informed by the appropriate disciplines. He has also been critical of the fanbase overstepping, with vague allusions that I understood as criticism of the popular American new generation graduates.

I feel you, it is the libs trying to pave over the cracks, but it is not the tool’s fault.

I mean, MMT does not, and should not, have anything to say about foreign agreements and interference, in the same way that it doesn’t have anything to say about what the division of profit is, because those things are not related to how money works. We’re used to neoliberalism being this all encompassing theory of the will of the market, but if you don’t have to peddle to the debt market, you can leave it all to the disciplines who actually deal with how things work.

Other than that not being a thing, the Fed’s computer will have no issue increasing the numbers in the appropriate accounts when necessary.
