Not just a clown.
Yea, I remember that war… Reddit’s been going downhill for some time, but this might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Hopefully it’ll be enough to encourage some to migrate over to Lemmy, even if it’s just to start a community as a “backup”.
A true tragedy. The sub was never the same after that… many of the popular creators left after the drama, and the magic of that community was lost.
Just chiming in to say I’m happy to welcome you to this little outpost on the fringes of the Lemmy-verse (and to the Animemes community). There are definitely larger communities out there (some duplicates, even) with more people or activity, so it’s always a pleasant surprise when someone stops by here for a bit.
Enjoy your stay!
“Coincidence? I think… NOT!”
Your meme gave a good chuckle, too :D
:D :D :D
It’s a pleasant surprise.
Unfortunate - it’ll probably grow by word of mouth, then.
Only 38? Who’s actually federated to this branch…? The NSFW communities? haha
I’m still very new myself, so probably I’ve not yet hit the curve where things get confusing. But it’s good to know that gifs work just fine.
I’m not sorry
:D
I’m a fairly active and experienced shitposter content creator on Reddit who will fully shift towards sole posting here (well, at Lemmy in general, across different “branches”) if things don’t improve there. Which, sad to say, looks increasingly unlikely.
It probably won’t get as many upvotes, but that’s fine. Artists continue drawing even if their works don’t get much public appreciation, simply because they enjoy creating, and other creatives (e.g. meme-makers) like me are no different - upboats and engagement in the comments are nice, but most of the joy comes from seeing the final product just as one envisioned it in their mind. Of course, if it brings others joy, that’s a bonus.
Get enough of these people migrating over, and you have a small critical mass that will create sufficient content for lurkers to look and go “Hey, that’s something I wanna be part of.” Then “not being on there/in the know” becomes stranger than “being on there”, and… the Lemmy servers will probably buckle under the influx. Heh.
Thank you, it’s one of those moments everything when clicks together just perfectly :D
Sometimes truth might be stranger than fiction.
